After the upgrade of Kusama to runtime 1.5.0, some validators running older node software began disputing parachain blocks and disrupting finality. Kusama Whitelisted Caller Referendum 524, if passed, will apply a patch to disable the new v2 descriptors node feature that is triggering the disputes.
