The Polkadot Music Events Initiative (PMEI) have initiated Polkadot Opengov Big Spender Track Referendum 1141. It requests 1.13M USDC for the onboarding of Billfold, a cashless POS system provider for entertainment venues. This will cover the costs to onboard 3M active user accounts to Polkadot custodial wallets, add native crypto payments to Billfolds POS systems, build a loyalty reward system, and execute a marketing strategy. PMEI's expenses are covered by their recent Decentralized Futures Grant.
Web3 Foundation announces the Polkadot Music Events Initiative (PMEI), the team behind {bash} events, as the latest recipient of a Decentralized Futures Grant. Three key milestones made up their grant application. Firstly, they will develop a proof-of-concept for purchasers that can automatically onboard them to Polkadot when buying event tickets on third-party-platforms. Secondly, they will build a proof-of-concept for paying with credit cards and converting funds to USDC on Asset Hub. Finally, they will build an integrated user interface that will allow event attendees to pay for services with DOT and other assets.
