, an AI assistant trained on Polkadot OpenGov data, is the latest recipient of a Web3 Foundation Decentralized Futures grant. At its present MVP stage, has the ability to conduct accountability assessments, and compare and categorize proposals, with future plans to expand into a feature-rich multi-agent ecosystem.
Derek Yoo of Moonsong Labs delves into the interrelationships between Web3 and AI in his latest blog post. He introduces , their latest AI x Web3 venture, which will create a global network of GPU computation resources that can be dynamically allocated to support large AI model operations.
Marvin Tong (Hashforest/Phala) has initiated a discussion on OpenGov proposing to build a USD $1.5M community-owned Polkadot Super AI Center, featuring 2 Nvidia DGX H100 systems that would be available to Parity, Web3 Foundation, and Polkadot Ecosystem teams free of charge. In addition, usage at half the market price would be offered to Web3 and AI partners willing to collaborate on research papers. A twenty percent discount will be offered to public projects, with the goal of onboarding at least twenty companies. Hashforest plans to run the project as non-profit, using any revenue to buy back and burn DOT for the benefit of Polkadot's long-term tokenomics.
Phala has teamed up with to expand its decentralized TEE enabled CPU network into high-performance Nvidia H100 and H200 GPUs. Partnering with gives Phala access to a decentralized cloud network of high performance TEE enabled GPUs which will be able to handle large AI models, such as LLaMA 3 and Microsoft Phi, while maintaining security and confidentiality.
Phala has released the first ever benchmark for Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) enabled GPUS for large language model (LLM) processing, with some promising results. They found that on a TEE enabled Nvidia H100 GPU, a small LLM query incurred a 7% reduction in performance. However, for larger LLMs, the performance impact was negligible. TEE is integral to Phala's decentralized, verifiable, and confidential AI model processing, and these results indicate that TEE-enabled GPUs can handle the workload without significantly compromising performance.
