Distractive have published a very lengthy Q3 Achievements and Milestones report (27 minute read???). In light of this, future updates will be monthly. The first notable highlight was the launch of the Polkadot website, with plenty more features to come during the rollout of v2 in Q4. In response to community feedback, the website will be open-sourced by Q1 2025. Three new content series - People of Polkadot, Think Pink, and Decentralized Mic - brought an average of 35,000 viewers per episode. Distractive designed and led the Polkadot Token 2049 booth, and attracted 3000 visits. Campaigns led by Distractive generated more than 84M impressions for the quarter.
Conor Daly has initiated OpenGov Treasurer Track Referendum 1111, requesting 1,653,900 DOT (USD ~$7.5M) for Motorsports Sponsorship in 2025. The deal includes sponsorship of Conor in the full NASCAR Xfinity Season, and Indy 500. In addition, it includes a dedicated 3-layer PR x Comms Team, an Indy 500 hackathon, a B2B hospitality program, and a B2B enhancement team to broker new projects.
Polkadot OpenGov Wish for Change Referendum #959, initiated by Giotto, has passed. It proposes that the Polkadot marketing strategy focuses on spreading awareness to end users which will in turn attract VCs and investors. While Giotto claims that the passing of this referendum is indicative of an overall consensus about the Polkadot marketing strategy, Shawn Tabrizi is less convinced. He believes that forming a message such as this and asking people to vote yes or no, without any prior community discussion on the message itself, does not indicate consensus at all, and is not the way the Wish for Change track is supposed to be used.
CultureDot's latest Polkadot awareness campaign has launched in the financial districts of London City and Canary Wharf. The campaign targets relevant professionals by running a series of 10 second animations on 91 digital billboards in 41 office buildings for 5.5 months. The initiative is a result of Referendum #760 for 40K DOT.
